beach kids

Here's some kiddies from the beach today...it's like they didn't even know I was watching them.
The little boy was really into dancing around with his pail. In real life, both his arms are the same length, although you'd never be able to tell from the sketch.

I coloured them when I got home.

The pinup type girl was my first experiment with watercolour and brush pen this morning...a little bit murkey....I am like the undisciplined monkey, who sometimes cannot wait for the paint to dry before applying a new colour. Apparently patience really is a virtue.

I love water colors, I've really gotta work with them more. Is this right in your sketchbook or on watercolor paper?
Also, your stuff is getting better and better everytime you post something. Its great to see!

thanks all!

Sid- it's right in my sketch book. I got a sketch book with paper that is suitable for watercolour/markers and ink. (The one I got is "New Soho Series SKETCH". It's alright, but the pages fall out pretty easily. I'll probably try something different next time...I think was probably the cheapest one in the store.

I like the big girl, but the little kid is fun too! Yeah, watercolor is a good medium to practise with, but sometimes it could be frustrating. I usually blow dry it because I just can't wait :P
